Day 8 :: Porbandar City to Gir Forest

On Day 7 evening, Hotel President - place where I checked in at 2100 hours in Porbandar - I was alloted with a non-ac room (that fits in my budget actually :P ) before but it was then upgraded to AC room .. I think the staff really pity on me when they got to know that I was driving from Jamnagar to Dwarka to Nageshwar, then back to Dwarka and then all the way to Porbandar.. :) :)

Amazing hospitality and prompt responses made me very happy... Jignesh - waiter and 16 years old boy also going to school has offered me to show his city through his eyes and I was mesmerised by that gentle gesture and very next day sharp at 0900 hrs we left for sight seeing.. :)

Interesting path-way :)

First we came to famous - Mahatma Gandhi's birth place- his dad's home in the heart of the city..

This rope was used to maintain the balance while once was getting up or getting down the stairs.. :) it was pretty steep.. :P

The palace of King of Porbanbar - which was closed and now the market of spices was there all around.. :)

Beautiful Mosque..

And then, another famous among the locals.. Bharat Mandir. I visited there but didnt like it alot since it should actually say about Great Indians and Great India and some best quotes but I found it very much Hindu-based.. I understand Mandir stands for Hindu Temple but the theme should be for all greats who have been the part of making of the country.. we left it in 10 min..

Opposite to it is TARA mandir.. now this is the interesting part.. I was pretty impressed by the presenter.. he informed us about many things.. actually its a planetarium inside and the projector they used in of 1965 and imported from Germany with Carl Zeiss lenses.. presentation was all in Hindi and also it is absolutely obsolete way of showing up but very very interesting.. no new technologies from ages have entered in this piece of building.. they savour the vintage.. :)

The silencer of my Bullet got screwed and also some things required to be serviced.. Jignesh took me to the best mechanic in town SUDHIR BHAI.. famous among the locals with the name USTAD .. yes - he is a magician .. he fixed it all and when I tried to pay him - he denied and said - You are our guests and I can not charge you for my gesture of hospitality.. Ohhhh My My - this much love.. I was justtttt flattered and thought - it is all about love I think I am on my trip to hunt for.. wellll - may be :) I still dont know the purpose of my trip.. I am just living every moment.. :)

Sudhir Bhai's Yamaha RX100 is also the favorites among the Indians :)

Now, it was time to go back to hotel and Yes - Annirudh - the receptionist also told me that he could take me to somewhere which I had never ever seen before in life.. well that was - Jamwanth ki Gufa - I must say - he was right.. it was end of his Shift.. he handed over the charge to another guy ,, I payed my bills, packed my backage and it was time to say goodbye to Porbandar and start my trip to the fancy place aswell as GIR FOREST :: famous of LIONS :)

Jamwanth ki Gufa - many feets below the surface of earth .. soft soil and shiny,, amazingly different aroma all around.. a kind of holes on the sealing.. and it was all natural.. :)

Outside the Gufa there was this room of a PRIEST.. who had a great liking for watch.. soooo the legend is - to get your wish fulfilled - one should offer him a watch.. I saw these kids offering this watch to BABA.. to his greatness I dont even required to check his name.. :) :)

And I got more fans :) .. actually not mine - its all about my bike :P

And after dropping Aniruddh to his home I need to rush to Gir forest to fix for my accomodation and also to check details about Safari :)

Overloaded Chakda :P

Crop of Cotton :)

Chit Chat with locals.. :)

And a long lift to someone Stranger and now he is Rajesh stays in Gondla and works in government service.. interesting guy.. :)

Reached Junagarh - a city before Gir Forest...

Mohabbat Shah's Shrine .. beautiful peach of art..

And finally to Gir Shasan .. where the Gir forest actually resides..

I checked into a really cheap hotel opposite to government office for booking safari and just crashed to bed for a long long sleep .. since next day gonna be - seeeeeingggg LIONS :D :D and going to DIU - national territory in India and there you can have BEER .. since GUJARAT is a DRY STATE.. :P and everybody knows how much I hate drinking it.. :P :P

  2. The Picture of you in the hole of Jamwanth ki Gufa is really cool. Should be framed I think. Also the Yamaha rx100 looked great. Almost like it is completely new.

Why is parts on Your bike already failing (the side stand and exhoust (?) :-)
