Yes - I stepped on my first milestone successfully.. :) travelled 380km in total .. started from Indore and had my final halt at Vadodara which in total took 9 hours of journey in which I experienced and lived many many things but it all started at very emotional note. My family drove till 15km till our village temple and there they said me final Goodbye and ofcorse tears in everybody's eyes .. well its love, love and love and ofcorse they are scared since it is a kind of extreme journey.. but after wrapping it all faster I stroked on the first gear and then Whoooooooom! :) Journey begins!
Rules - No GPS but use of MASS COMMUNICATION i.e. getting the help of the locals or the people on the way to reach the destination :P
My agenda was to reach DHAR first, then go to JHABUA, cross the state borders (from Madhya Pradesh to Gujarat), reach DAHOD and finally VADODARA.
Reaching Dhar wasn't easy since the roads are pathetic and that really has made me drive very very slow and the passing trucks raises alot of dust in air which made it tough to see tracks sometimes but I managed to reach the Highway and got sooooo excited that actually forgot the turn to Dhar and went far ahead unless I talked to Naushar who came as an Angel and guided me about a shortcut to get back on track.. that 2 min of chit-chat ended up by getting right direction plus invitation to visit his village and home anytime when I be back here.. :P My-Smile-of-the-Day award went to him :D
I crossed Dhar and headed towards JHABUA - a place which is infamous among people for attacks from tribals.. I didn't experienced any but still I thought of checking it again with few locals and the comfort and confidence I got from them made me getting excited to reach beautiful Jhabua and no-fear-at-all mood :)
Excited to see villagers travelling in trucks and trollies - sitting above Cars and also Cotton market of Jhabua..
As I crossed the border and entered Gujarat I observed the quality of roads improved hell-alot.. it wassss just awesome to drive on.. actuallllly to Cruise.. :) but I controlled my speed after seeing a truck accident.. bummer! :(
But after having awesome drive for couple of more hours I reached Vadodara and met my Baori Uncle and Aunty and what a warm welcome and hospitality - I was just felt like spending more days with them..
Beautiful home, awesome Vadodara and lovable hosts.. :)
14th January is very big festival in state of Gujarat called SANKRANTI and the sky is full of KITES and people start flying it couple of days earlier and shops are decorated and on almost every street you can see the Kite-sellers stalls.. And being a vegetarian and a passionate cook I had a wish to learn MATKO UNDIYO (english : inverted pot) name of a recipe in which many some spices are added on atleast 5 or more vegetables and then they are placed in a pot which is placed in the hole in a ground.. then lots of hays (dry grasses kind of) are placed over it and it is fired and cooked in that way for atleast 2 hours and then it is required to break the pot and take out the cooked vegetable which is served with various sauces.. it wassssssssss Yummmmmmmmy.. :)
And then we went back home and started chit-chat and then I got the chance to meet Preeti ,, amazing person.. at 1.30 in night she wished to drive my bike and wow!! she managed it very well and then with some more guidance she got absolute control over it and next day we went on a long drive of 20km and she was just riding like a Cooool Biker - I was just flattered and glad sitting behind her and seeing her enthusiasm about driving my Enfield.. :)
Then it was the time to say good-bye on 3rd day of my trip (13th Jan) and I headed towards Ahmedabad - taking an hour halt in a city on my way named ANAND which is famous for most famous Dairy product company of India called AMUL (just like TINE in Norway :P) and had my favorite flavored milk ,,
and then been to capital city of Gujarat called GANDHINAGAR 25km away from Ahmedabad.. it is very organized and attractive city .. also got chance to go to Step Well of Adalaj..
Finally I reached Ahmedabad at my friend Vaibhav´s home who is currently in Norway but greeted by his family members and rest I will write in my next postttt.. keep readinggg.. :)
Primary agenda behind this blog is writing my experience while my journey across India which majorly be done on my motor-bike :-) Starting on 11th Jan 2013 from the state which resides in the heart of the country named Madhya Pradesh from my home-city Indore - all the way to West India & then to South during Indian Winters & beginning of Summers. Then will head towards East India till the Summer ends & finally to North India during monsoon & spring.. :-)
