Gujarat State - Day 5 : Bhuj to Rann, White Desert, Kala Dungar...

Gujarat - the state that is classified as Gujarat, Kutch and Saurashtra regions. Had been to Gujarat till my last post now its all about Kutch.. I was pretty tired of my journey and reached the city of Bhuj late by 1930 hours - so it was time to check in to a nice cozy hotel and sleep sleeep and sleeeeep.. The day's checklist - just to explore Kutch and get into the culture :) First point -> village Dhordo, 90km away from Bhuj where the great grand Rann Mahotsav is happening.. ;)
check this out - http://www.rannutsav.com/

Here is the synopsis of my journey to a place where you feel like - Moon meets the Earth .. Yes I am talking about White Desert - famously called Rann of Kutch and crossing 50km of it would take you to Pakistan hence it is safe-guarded by army..

Best moment was  this sign-board on my way -

Well if they say it - then I believe it but I can-not see it passing from anywhere.. :) :)

Ofcorse a tea break at a local shop ..

And one more accident ..........

Anddd I entered the Rann Mahotsav arena ... the grand preparation colored with culture.. 3 Km away is WHITE DESERT.. it means the land covered with Salt .. Yes - an awesome experience.. it is spread across 50km and when the sunlight touches that layer it just shines hell alot and you cant keep your eyes just half open to see what-you-are-supposed-to-see.. thats the Aura of this place.. the roads, the preparations and all arrangements are awesome.. My collades to Chief Minister of Gujarat State and also Mr. Amitabh Bachchan for doing good work for Rann..

This was the time when I visited Rann at noon but I wasn't done.. I promised myself that I will visit it again in evening.. and then I went on my way back to Tent area and had some more fun on my way.. :)

Now it was time to explore tents, decorations of event and exhibitions

Wowww.. It was colorfullll and I enjoyed every bit of it and it took me a gooood time and then I thought to visit another nearby spot named KALA DUNGAR which was around 90km from white-desert sooo letsss gooo.. but my enfield was thirsty and I forgot to get my tank filled from Bhuj and there was no official pertrol pump nearby soooooo - time to take the help of locals who fixed petrol for my machine from somewhere in rural village.. andddd I loved it soooooooo much.. :) The shopkeeper buys the petrol from city's petrol pump and store them in the bottles of pepse, fanta, coca cola and other mineral water bottles and that helped me with total of 8 litres of petrol from somewhere in nowhere and just just just because of love and helping nature in locals.,

And I saw Cactus tree aswell .. and the big giant machine I am riding is called CHAKDA which in english means six-seater kind-of.. :P absolutely unique ;)

and then my journey towards Kala Dungar beginsssss .. and I was accompanied by a proper man from that village area - Basar Bhai

Basar Bhai asked me on our way back to Rann Mahotsav to drop him to his home and with a kind invitation to meet his family and have tea with them.. Oh I loved it soooo much.. :P

These people are called Banni region people.. which are round shaped made of mud and a circular wooden cap on the top,, beautifully decorated from both inside and outside and also the ladies wear special ornaments and dress,, and sooooo many cutie kids... I should say Enfield Lovers ;)

Now it was time to attend Soorvaniz - group of local people sing regional Kutch songs and its a mesmerising experience in the middle of white desert... awesome!!!!! people drove crazy and count me IN aswell.. :P
and I must mention my 2 friends - Narain and Shanti.. I will keep contact with them always.. they have guided me about anything everything cultural I can see around and I asked and Shanti let me stay in his tent-shop in night.. well he is 19 years old and appearing for 10th standard and just to earn some money he came in this event but ater a month he has his examination... wellllllllll - I taught him some Maths and English.. but it was just an hour session then we slept.. :)

It was my first night in a local's place or shelter and I hope I will have many more like this ahead.. :) :)

Will be updating you about Day 6 experience sometime back - its tooooo late and time to sleep .... Day 6 is about travel from Rann to Jamnagar - 350km ;)
